Hotel review response examples
A hotel review can cover a whole stay in a few sentences. Choose the most important point to answer, acknowledge the guest’s experience and avoid revealing private booking details.
The reviews and replies below are illustrative. They do not describe real guests or verified incidents.
A noisy night
Customer review
Friendly reception, but the noise kept us awake. We barely slept.
Possible reply
Thank you for your kind words about reception. I’m sorry the noise disturbed your sleep and affected your stay. If you would like us to look into it, please contact the hotel directly with the dates of your visit.
Acknowledge the effect on the stay. Do not claim that a room move or soundproofing would have solved it unless you know.
A room not ready at check-in
Customer review
We arrived at check-in time and had to wait another hour for our room.
Possible reply
I’m sorry you were left waiting for your room at check-in. That was a frustrating start to your stay, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention.
You can add a verified explanation or completed action, but do not invent one to make the reply sound more reassuring.
A comfortable stay
Customer review
Comfortable bed, spotless room and a very helpful team at reception.
Possible reply
Thank you for your review. We’re glad the room was comfortable and that reception helped make your stay a good one.
Reflect the specific praise without adding claims about the hotel’s facilities.
When the review mentions cleanliness
Acknowledge the concern plainly and check it with the housekeeping or management team. Avoid dismissing it because other guests had a different experience. If you have already investigated and taken action, state only what you can support.
A useful opening might be: “I’m sorry to hear about the condition of the room.” Follow it with an appropriate next step, such as contacting the hotel directly so the manager can investigate. Keep room numbers, booking references and information about other guests out of the public reply.
A final check for hotel replies
- Does the wording distinguish what the guest reported from what you have verified?
- Does it avoid disclosing booking or guest details?
- Can the team deliver any promised follow-up?
- Does it sound like someone at your hotel rather than a generic customer-service script?
