Keep the original and the working translation
Translation helps people review feedback they could not otherwise read. It should not erase the original wording, language, source or date. Retain the original record so an ambiguous interpretation can be checked.
ReviewsBlender’s service material describes mixed-language analysis and summaries in the requested language. Practical suitability depends on the source material. Ambiguous phrasing, specialist terms and local expressions may require closer review; there is no universal translation accuracy percentage.
Analyse meaning at the aspect level
A guest may praise a room and criticise breakfast in the same sentence. A literal translation that loses the contrast can turn mixed feedback into a misleading positive summary. Sarcasm, understated criticism and idioms need particular attention.
Use a consistent theme framework across languages, but allow categories to be refined when the feedback reveals a different concern. Keep uncertain records marked as uncertain rather than forcing an overconfident sentiment label.
| Example task | Useful check |
|---|---|
| Translate a complaint about waiting | Does it describe booking delay, check-in or restaurant service? |
| Summarise a positive review with a qualification | Has the criticism been retained? |
| Identify a named facility or dish | Has the proper name been preserved rather than mistranslated? |
| Compare language groups | Are review volumes and source differences disclosed? |
Avoid false market-segmentation conclusions
The language of a review is not proof of nationality, residence or ethnicity. A person may choose a language for convenience, and a platform may show a machine translation. Use only appropriate supplied context when segmenting feedback.
Different language groups may also use different platforms or travel at different times. Show source and period alongside the results before suggesting that expectations differ between markets. Small groups need particular caution.
A mixed-language example already on the site
The older La Veranda report analyses 27 Google reviews across a three-month window and includes several original languages alongside an English summary. It is useful as an example of bringing source material together; it is not a benchmark for every hotel or a claim that translation resolves every ambiguity.

Produce a report management can act on
Use plain language in the final report, name recurring themes and show enough supporting context to make the interpretation checkable. If a recommendation relies on a disputed translation, flag the uncertainty before management takes action.
The goal is consistent understanding across the review set. Add operational context before concluding why a concern exists or which team caused it.
